Leon, Nicaragua is an affluent town, 2 hours east of the border of Honduras, our first stop in this country. It is quite similar to Antigua actually. It´s very affluent with lots of shops, restaurants and hotels, and definitely attracts the tourists but it doesn´t overtake it. It is charming. It has the terracotted roofs with tall concrete yet colourful pastel walls with only large doors on the outside, only to open to beautiful large courtyards behind the doors…as similar to Antigua. We had a lovely day of just wandering and taking photos. It was sunday and the streets were quite quiet…let the story unfold.
